That's an odd one. Perhaps if you try changing the Database Sort setting. You get at that from the Access windows, not the IDE window. Got to Tools/Options and select the 'General' tab. There's an option there for 'New database sort order'. Hopefully if you change that to something other than 'General' and then change it back again then that will fix the problem.
