I beg to differ. When running VirtualBox or Hyper-V or any similar product on a 64-bit OS, the more RAM the better. As a semi-retired person, I'm getting by with a mere 4GB and I run Ubuntu Linux as a VirtualBox VM while running Windows 7 as the main OS, and it works well even with only 4GB of RAM. My main problem is how to install an instance of Windows XP as a VM inside VirtualBox.
