You do not need to install office or Access on the web server for it to work. I haven't used .Net with an .mdb, but I don't think it would be much different. I STRONGLY recommend that the .mdb be placed on the same server as IIS. I have never used MS Access as the DB for an application running off an IIS server...any web server for that matter...MS SQL, Express, Oracle, MySQL etc but never MDB. So does MS Access have to be installed on the IIS server and does an extension have to be added to the server etc.? Can just a set of drivers be configured...? (If the truth be known I would just love to upsize to any other DB and be done with it but that is not what the client wants; and the client is always right.(?)) If any one has experience with this process, their knowledgeable tips would be greatly appreciated.
