I haven't tried Foxit, but I downloaded the FreePDF converter and it seems to be performing properly. I can't purchase anything for the machine, but the freebie is working and I'm ignoring Adobe. This requires a bit more care and feeding than Adobe, but at least it seems to be reliable.
