Yes, his knowledge with Access issues was stellar and his understanding of the whole computer field was outstanding. The truth is that knowledge of Access as a developer's package is disappearing. There is no longer training in it and Access is moving from VB to macros/cloud and not to .Net where it should be going. The industry is also moving to the web in a big way and a lot of PC development is going there. I still do upgrades and support work for Access application but I have not worked on a new Access site in about eight(?) years. I do wish there was a web Access development platform as sophisticated as Access was for the PC. There are a lot of frame-works out there but they all have weaknesses in one area or another. I am sure at one point someone will complete a web application package with the power and functionality of PC Access but not yet. To get a client's attention you have to be able to diagram an app in a few hours before they will commit to a large project. The bottom-line is we need to expand our lists to cover the new technologies and improve the lists functionality.
