Arthur, If you can wait a couple of days (Monday AM, Aussie time), I can give you the code for this, plus plenty of options you may want as well. It is the weekend here and I am mostly busy with the kids. However if this is super urgent and critical and you 'need it now', let me know and I will see if I can dig up the code from home later tonight. cheers Darryl. ________________________________________ From: accessd-bounces at databaseadvisors.com [accessd-bounces at databaseadvisors.com] on behalf of Arthur Fuller [fuller.artful at gmail.com] Sent: Saturday, 26 May 2012 5:01 AM To: Access Developers discussion and problem solving Subject: [AccessD] Export to Excel and Open XLS file I'm scouring my old apps for an instance of when I did this, but there are so many and it takes so much time to open and inspect them all. Here's my requirement: A form is in continuous mode. A filter may or may not be applied to it. A button invites the user to export the selected (filtered or not) data to an XLS file. A dialog opens asking the user to name and locate the output file. Excel opens automatically, showing the saved file. Anyone got an example for this? I'm going through ADH2K chapter by chapter file looking for this, but so far have not located it. Unfortunately, I think I gave the books away to Value Village, and all I have left is the disk.
