Thanks for the additional info,  I did not know this.

In fact, I was thinking that "Rich Text" = RTF.

It doesn't. It is just "rich text" which can be anything really. From A2007 the HTML format has been used.

Pre A2007 rich text in Access was RTF (Rich Text Format) which is what WordPad and any (old version of) Word can read and write.

I have done very little work with Rich Text.  I didn't know that Rich Text used HTML tags.
