It's certainly the best I've come across for programmers with a Basic
background.

The alternative is programming directly in Java using the Android
Development Tools (ADT) plugin for Eclipse. 

(B4A is actually a front end which converts your Basic code into a Java app
. You need to instal  JDK and Eclipse before you instal B4A)
