The problem was that I only got 2 decimal places instead of the 5 I needed. I was pretty surprised that a Decimal type in SQL Server couldn't be completely understood in an Access table link. I'm going to guess that there is something in the ODBC link which is insufficient for a SQL Server decimal type.
