[AccessD] Windows 8

OK I almost wiped the disk yesterday and loaded W7 Ultimate but decided
since I don't use the laptop much so I've decided to keep it and try to get
used to it. For the present.  It's on thin ice.

Rocky,

Turn off the live tiles.  First thing I did when I got my Win 8 laptop.
 Then I cleared out all the tiles that MS thought I wanted and only showed
tiles that are useful to me.  With 8.1, I grouped tiles in various sizes
into logical groupings.  The only "live" tile on my start menu is Windows
Store, and that's mainly because I keep forgetting to turn it off.

My laptop loads the modern screen at startup and then switches to desktop.
 I do all my work from desktop.  No gestures, I use a mouse and keyboard,
thank you.  In fact, I even prefer to use a wireless mouse and wireless
keyboard with my Windows tablet PC.
