Slick -- mention the lawsuits. :) 

The original director asked to track ingredients -- I told her... someday... and dropped in a few tables to serve more as a reminder to me than anything else. :) It's a form of self-documentation for the future. 

But the new boss says he can't think of a need for tracking ingredients in prepared feeds. The canned software that I mentioned yesterday does that. :)

Nice getout - well almost.

I got asked ( twisted-parts persuaded) a long while ago to do a program for sckoole can-tin-e  menus

And that's with only 1 creature-class to be considered, and ignore not-consumed!

It's horrifying how often the 'contents' and nutri-values of a tin of the same brand of beans changes in a year!  
And with 'supplies' of dry goods being from the cheapest suppliers of the cheapest packs (by weight) in any month ...

Never did get to the prototype stage with that - 

Advised management that there seemed to me to be some legal implications of any 'error' in the generated menus, and I got told they'd get back to me about the project.

Now - about the pay grading's of the additional data entry staff, and the
section manager (new post 4 U?) And - there will need to be additional devices
for the input stations, an upgraded network, and because of the volume of data,
possibly an improved backup
process and device - more capacity and speed       

===========Not here. :) We're the agency's red-headed stepchild. We're the last
to get any kind of new technology. If we want a web-app for something, I 'm
going to have to provide it. They won't. They all have smart phones and it's on
my back burner. :)  

What we've done is reduced the "food" list to 9 categories and further
specifying further details in only two categories. A date, time, amount offered,
amount removed, category... details in those two categories are required. 

Now, I'm still wading through all the table implications, but so far, it's just
meant one new table.
