[AccessD] OT: Merry Christmas

Hi again Shamil
No, not Fortran. We were using a Ferranti Mark 1*, which was old then, and programming it in machine code. It didn't
even have a divide instruction, nor any floating point at all - and yet calculated the stresses and strains in an
aircraft wing during take-off! Unbelievable now. RAM was regenerative CRT: Williams Tubes - dim and bright dots for 0s
and 1s.

Hi John --

Was that coded in Fortran IV?

I doubt anyone here can beat that.
Happy holidays!
