[AccessD] Outlook looking into Access

Only problem there is you need to be careful where you put code. Outlook
has a "Microsoft Office Outlook Object" section with a module called
"ThisOutlookSession" and a "Modules" section where you can add new modules.

Code that needs to react to Outlook events goes in the first. Code that
does not (such as adding a button to a tool bar) goes in the second.

On the first, note that the object dropdown has "Application" listed. On
the procedure drop down, these are the events you can react to and add code
for. Anything outside of that is ignored by Outlook.

Jim.

Hi Rocky

Pressing Alt+F11 in Outlook, it seems like nothing more than adding a
reference to DAO and pull the table. Problem is: What next?

That code I have. Going the other way is more problematic. I suppose,
although I've never done it, there's a way to put some VBA behind Outlook
like you can with Excel to open an Access table and extract selected email
addresses. But I've never done that.

Probably. I went the other way and used Access to email to the addresses in
its database via Outlook.

Dear List:

I developed an app for a client that has a lot of customer contact records
with email addresses. He wants to know if Outlook can 'see' those addresses
to create emails - without importing them into the Outlook Contacts folder.

I said I didn't know of a way but would ask around.

Can this be done?

I've already told him about the two step process - export from Access db to
csv file and import using the wiz.
