Hi all,
I recently upgraded my computer which didn't meet the requirements of
Microsoft, from win10 Pro to win11 Pro
I used an excellent tool which overrides all the microsoft's restrictions
MediaCreationTool.bat-main from
https://github.com/AveYo/MediaCreationTool.bat
Done with great ease choosing only the version of win I needed.
After 20 days everything works perfect

Charlotte,

Have a read through the articles and how-to's in the links I posted

Basically, they detail ways to get win-11 to install on very old systems -
including (reportedly) a Pentium system, and a USB-attached OS partition,
maybe even a booting USB OS drive.
I don't know if win-11 systems will allow 'legacy' hardware in the same way
as the earlier install processes which (AFAIK) torn off the secure boot and
use the BIOS type boot and OS startup processes if you have USB or MBR or
DVD - maybe even floppy booting devices.

Seems that you can run win-11 on hardware that doesn't match the
'Requirements'
as the 'Requirements' detail what is needed to support all the features -
(security etc) that are in win-11 and MS considers needed for a secure
system.
If the system doesn't have the added abilities in the hardware - you just
don't get the associated features working.
Not to say you get them working anyway - Note those needing the Pro version
Note the requirements for some of the MS facilities - VM, Sandbox, maybe
6core CPU and 16GB RAM !

I would definitely recommend either a separate system from your 'production
work' one, or a separate partition for the win-11 And treat it as a proving
environment - maybe experimental too!

And get the weekly posts of 'insecurity' advisories from US-CERT.

Depending on how old your PC is, Win 11 might not be available. My laptop
is a bit over 2 years old and meets all the requirements--except its CPU is
not on the approved list. So I'm stuck with Windows 10, like it or not.
Most of the features are available in the latest versions of 10 anyhow if
you know how to find them.
