I use Autoruns to disable all the stuff that I don't wont. It's just a case of ticking "Disbled" on 
anything you don't want and removing the check mark if you want to enable it at any time.
Lots of different categories of things that run or load automagically.  One of the tabs is 
scheduled tasks
