Ok, that's a good point.  Here's a different workaround that may work for you:

1) Set the height of the subform control to 0 in design view, save the form
2) In the Form Load event, add code to set the height of the subform control to the desired height

Now when you open the form, this will leave the rogue design window as 0-height, so it won't get in the way of the datasheet.

If you want to send me a link to the Reddit discussion, I can try to confirm that they are seeing the same issue.

Hey Shane,
 Because this is a crosstab query I'm not sure I can make a datasheet for it since the column names are (in this case) dates, and sometimes dates with extra information.

 I am changing the QueryDef.SQL string based on the criteria needed, that Stored Query is statically bound to the subform control.

 I now have someone on Reddit who's run into this and someone on the Access Tech Community as well.  Not sure if they're all using the stored query as the source object or not.
