 When did an OS not become about simply running the computer?

 Meanwhile, the print spooler still locks up, even under Windows 11, my one
Windows 10 install still refuses to kick in the screen saver consistently,
and there are all the other minor annoyances that an OS should be taking
care of.   Windows certainly has improved over the years, but where is it
taking us?

 Sigh.
