On my android phone the leftmost desktop page is news. So when I want A
quick read of some random news I will just move to that leftmost page. The
problem is that chrome is the default browser and holy canole every page
has a dozen pop-ups, mostly video ads. I have been fighting the pop-ups
forever.

So I made Firefox the default browser. By itself that didn't help. So I
went into apps, found Chrome, disabled it and unloaded it.

Voila, problem mostly solved. I now get about 1/10th of the pop-ups. And
most ads are just a blank spot with the word advertisement in tiny little
letters.

I have completely stopped using chrome on the laptop but struggled with my
phone.
