There is a price to pay and that is in performance. At one time when I was still debating whether to use an ODBC connection or go directly to ADO-OLE. A simple test set the course. The result was as follows: ODBC downloading 10,000Plus records a report, 20 minutes...ADO-OLE 1.3 seconds.
