Francisco,

If I had any indication of where in the process it was I might be tempted to
let it run. However how do I know it won't take 2 more days? Or weeks?

aborting the job now won't cause you to loose data, but it will cause
additional delays as the log files have to be used to restore the database
to before you ran your job.
