[dba-SQLServer] SQL Server 2005 - Keeping servers registered

Eric,

I am in the object explorer. I have to drop down the "connect" and then
perform a connect. So basically I register them all then just double click
the registered server to connect to it. With both the Registered Servers
window and the Object Explorer window pinned, that works well.

Thanks,

Can you see the registered servers view or are you looking at the Object
Explorer view? If you are in Object Explorer view you can right click on the
server icon and then select Register. When SQL Management Studio loads it
doesn't "remember" any connections in the Object Explorer view but it does
remember the registered servers.

Whenever my laptop is rebooted, I lose the connected servers, i.e. I have to
go connect manually to whatever servers I had already connected to before
the reboot. Is there a way to have the last connected servers "refreshed or
already there? I seem to remember that it worked that way in the past, no
se why not now.
