Not much use to you now but its a know issue not very well know but know. There is a work around using the command line.  The SA account is hard coded into some areas of the upgrade script

Holding my breath... it apears that the clean install is going to go just fine.

I didn't particularly want to do a clean install, but when do we ever get what we want?
