I have never actually run SBS, my comment is just from something I read somewhere. I think that SBS *can* provide various roles which you select as you install SBS. Thus as you indicate if you do not select SQL Server as you install, you do not get it. The other thing that I seem to remember is that SBS is x32 only, i.e. there is no X64 version. This is a pretty extreme limitation if it is true. John W.
