[dba-SQLServer] MariaDB v. MySQL v. SQL Server v. PostGreSQL

I'm torn between MariaDB and PostGreSQL. At the moment, I have concluded
that MySQL is trailing behind the forerunners. MariaDB is a drop-in
replacement. PostGreSQL takes more work but is demonstrably way more
powerful.IMO, for serious apps MS-SQL has a long way to go to catch up to
the serious players.

Your take?
