I've tried that - no go. when starting msconfig, I get these: http://www.ourmailinglist.org/ofotoscreens/msconfigerror1.jpg http://www.ourmailinglist.org/ofotoscreens/msconfigerror2.jpg http://www.ourmailinglist.org/ofotoscreens/msconfigerror3.jpg http://www.ourmailinglist.org/ofotoscreens/msconfigerror4.jpg after which it finally opens. I take the checkmark out of the pertinant Ofoto thing, but it won't "take". I've tried "apply" and OK both. Sometimes when I try, it won't close and I have to end task. Sometimes things *look* like they've worked alright but after I reboot, the blasted checkmark is back. It just will not allow me to *not* run that RunDLL. -- Kathryn Rhinehart Bassett (Pasadena CA) "Genealogy is my bag" "GH is my soap" kathryn at bassett.net http://bassett.net > -----Original Message----- > From: dba-tech-bounces at databaseadvisors.com > [mailto:dba-tech-bounces at databaseadvisors.com]On Behalf Of Mike Tope > Sent: 01 Jan 2004 3:56:PM > To: Discussion of Hardware and Software issues > Subject: Re: [dba-Tech] RunDLL32 > > > MsConfig.exe might be present on W2k, if it isn't then get one somewhere > else. > It has a startup tab you can use to switch off bootup programs. > Mike Tope > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Kathryn Bassett" <kathryn at bassett.net> > To: "DBA-Tech" <dba-tech at databaseadvisors.com> > Sent: 01 January 2004 21:17 > Subject: [dba-Tech] RunDLL32 > > > > I've been having an annoying problem for a number of months.
