So right. I am in the process of upgrading all my home / office machines to that chip for exactly that reason. My laptop has that chip and 2 of 4 of my home / office machines have it. I just received the MB and chip to upgrade my wife's machine to the Athlon64. That leaves a single desktop using the Athlon XP and my wife's OLD laptop using an old PII. Slowly but surely. John W.
