[dba-Tech] web link for file save

Wasn't there a method using an HTML Object Tag like

<OBJECT TYPE="text/html" DATA="file://c:/file.dat"></OBJECT>
I think this was stopped a few years ago for obvious security reasons in IE
I don't know what replaced it. But that could be what you need
