Hi Christopher and John Electrical they are nearly identical. At most hardware shops you can get a simple adapter for a few $//£ which converts the 2½" connector to that of a 3½" ATA drive and a power cord. A larger (desktop) drive will not physically fit, nor will it fit electrically.
