I've had good luck with SpinRite, from grc.com, over the years. While it's
not free, I think its $89 price is reasonable.

Subject: [dba-Tech] Hard Disk recovery

Hi all

Does anyone know of any free or cheap hard disk recovery utilities out
there?

I've looked at a couple of cheap ones, but I'm always looking to save some
money... The utils I've seen (VirtualLab and Stellar Phoenix) can both see
the data that Windows can't, so I just wonder if there's anything free that
I can use to recover it.

Thanks

Jon
