[dba-Tech] IE 7

Rocky:

We only had problems with Quickbooks. Quickbooks uses an embeded IE as its
interface and I suspect some of the new security features cause the
problems. Symantec has promised a patch to fix the problems but it's not
available yet. Any software that uses IE the same way might have problems
but I'm unaware of any other software written the same way.

Ah.  Good one.  I don't use QuickBooks but I was thinking of interfacing my
manufacturing software to it.  So I'll need QB 2007.  Maybe they'll give me
a developer copy.

If I'm not using QB but I fire up an earlier version for testing, what will
happen.  Will QB just not work or will it hose other stuff on my system?

Make sure you are not using Quickbooks before you upgrade. The only version
of Quickbooks that works with IE 7 is the 2007 version. We got stung by this
one and it wasn't pretty.
