I don't know about the D-Link ones, but all the Netgear Routers I've used have a configuration screen where you can turn off DHCP, and routing etc. I'm guessing that the D-Link ones would, but not assuming, because that makes an Ass out of U and Ming. Whoever he is. Sorry, been at the Christmas spirit a bit early :-) Jon -----Original Message----- From: Bryan Carbonnell [mailto:carbonnb at gmail.com] Sent: Tuesday, December 19, 2006 2:35 PM To: Discussion of Hardware and Software issues Subject: [dba-Tech] "Daisy-Chaining" D-Link Routers I have got 2 d-link routers (DI-704P print server router, and a DI-524 wireless) that I'm trying to hook up together, to give me wireless and the print server. Does anyone have any ideas how to set them up, so that the wireless is just an access point and not a router? What I'm after is the 704 to be the DHCP server, that serves up IPs for everything, so that all the IPs are in the same subnet, including the wireless access point. I'm at a loss as to how to set them up. Ideas, suggestions, "You can't do that" comments are all greatfully accpeted. -- Bryan Carbonnell - carbonnb at gmail.com Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "What a great ride!" _______________________________________________ dba-Tech mailing list dba-Tech at databaseadvisors.com http://databaseadvisors.com/mailman/listinfo/dba-tech Website: http://www.databaseadvisors.com The information in this e-mail is confidential and may also be legally privileged.
