Most modern e-mail clients will make the link active on the receiving end though. When I put a URL in an e-mail (ie http://cbc.ca ) it is not active when I an typing it in. However, when I get it back it *will* be a clickable link. It's just a function of the e-mail client. If it is keyed in correctly, I wouldn't worry about it being active on your end.
