John and Jim Thanks for this. I'll definitely take a look at MSI and probably Asus. Cruising some of my usual suppliers, I see some "repaired under warranty" mobos at reduced price, mostly Gigabyte(6) but also some Asus(3) and MSI(3). OK, not a big sample, nor a scientific one - I'd buy new myself anyway, but seeing this stirred worries about quality. Any thoughts on this? Anyone else's experiences? John, I've used 20 - 30 MSI motherboards in the past 4 or 5 years without a glitch. I've never owned anything except AMD cpus since my first 386/DX40 in the early 90's.
