Hi Rocky Here's a comparison between the two: http://www.grisoft.cz/softw/70/filedir/presale/cmpsheets/mm_pfp_cmp_us_2.pdf For me the best reasons to pay money are the excellent and timely tech support I've received from the company and the ability to schedule scans and updates, which you can't in the free edition Ralph Bryce ps Dumped Norton ages ago - never looked back...but I also use NOD32 which is excellent but not free. -----Original Message----- Disenchanted with Norton, my update licenses have run out. So I put AVG on one of the kids' computers here to test it out. Got the free edition. So far so good except that I get connection timeouts on the Grisoft site. Did finally get the virus definition updates. Q: is there any compelling reason to pay for AVG - something that's better than the free version? They say tech support and faster connections and downloads. TIA, Rocky -- Rocky Smolin Beach Access Software 858-259-4334 www.e-z-mrp.com
