Note that you need to run the server as a service if the machines may be locked or no user is logged on. I found this out after about 3 weeks of not being able to figure out why I could not connect to my work PC from home. As an aside, I also use Hamachi so that my comms from work->home and home->work are encrypted. Depends on what you mean by "Server" :-) Both Real and Tight VNC use the terminology Server/Viewer, not Server/Client. You need to run the server on all the machines, you can run it either as a normal user app or as a service. You run the Viewer on the machine you are working from.
