[dba-Tech] Problem with WordPad and Word in WinXP

when I open Word or WordPad, and then start typing,
I get:
Wordpad has detected a problem and must be closed ........ report this to 
Microsoft - don't

I have run an Office-repair - did not fix it

I have uninstalled Word and reinstalled it - did not fix it.

any ideas?
do I have to uninstall and reinstall office?
