If you terminate AVG altogether does the machine speed up again? If not, then it's probably not AVG. I'm using Version 7.5.432. Is anyone else using it and have you noticed this? I turned off the executable scan - I can turn it on if I need it - but I'm not sure that's really helped. I've also lost my CD-ROM drive - which we've already discussed, but I don't think AVG was the culprit. I've run all the spyware, adware scans - finding the normal stuff and getting rid of it, but that doesn't improve performance like it use to.
