It can be a bit hit and miss sometimes, but if you search for the *.pst and take a copy of it, you're going to be ok in case it does kill it. The only problem I've had with that is that when you reimport the pst afterwards, the two sets of contact folders get confused and seem to argue about which one is going to be the primary one. It usually ends up with the empty one winning, and I can't figure out how to make them behave, which is irritating, to say the least. Jon Oh yeah, I'm gonna look for your excel thing too :-) -----Original Message----- From: dba-tech-bounces at databaseadvisors.com [mailto:dba-tech-bounces at databaseadvisors.com]On Behalf Of Susan Harkins Sent: Wednesday, July 11, 2007 3:56 PM To: 'Discussion of Hardware and Software issues' Subject: [dba-Tech] FW: Outlook reinstall I'm probably going to have to reinstall Outlook -- the translator files have been corrupted and I'm trying to export data to an Access data and it just can't do it. I don't mind losing settings or rules -- that sort of thing, but will reinstalling destroy the mail in my pst folders and entries in my address book? Or will the installation process maintain them?
