I'm not sure what you mean by bloat. I've not run into this (except with pivot tables). Could you explain? I do continually have a problem with orphaned links since I seldom start with a new workbook but almost always crib from existing workbooks. I have an addin that dates back to 97 days that helps clean up broken links.
