I decided to bite the bullet and install the copy of Vista on my laptop (dev machine). While I was at it I also decided to go whole hog and install thunderbird as my email client. So my day is pretty much wasted trying to figure out how to use thing thing. I have to say, Vista is pretty. I left everything turned on, including the new menu (not the classic). I have always felt "helpless" when I tried to work on someone's computer that didn't use the classic start menu, and the "new" (XP style) menu has been around what... 5 years now? So fine, I will learn the new stuff. It just takes soooo much time to discover where everything went. For example, the old way allowed me to run a little wizard to add a mapped drive on another computer to "my network". While I can MAP these things (if I know their \\Servername\Sharename address) I'll be darned if I can figure out how to just create a network item - or even where network neighborhood disappeared to. And this after an hour of playing around. Sigh. Sometime next week I should be back to getting real work done. JWColby Jim Lawrence wrote: > Hi John: > > Yes, I have.
