Hi Susan: >From your initial comments I am assuming that you are asking about a standard cable configuration using a cable modem, a router and a wireless hub/router. When the router is connected to the cable modem the uplink port is used. Sometimes it is not labeled but it is generally separated from the other ports and may be coloured differently. When connecting the wireless hub/router to the router do not use uplink port, as described in the previous sentence, as using it, depending on the wireless modem hub/router can cause issues with both LAN and internet connections. Hope this is clear now :-) Jim -----Original Message----- From: dba-tech-bounces at databaseadvisors.com [mailto:dba-tech-bounces at databaseadvisors.com] On Behalf Of Susan Harkins Sent: Tuesday, April 15, 2008 5:19 AM To: Discussion of Hardware and Software issues Subject: Re: [dba-Tech] modem/router I have no idea what you just said. :) Well, it works Okay, but not the cable TV sucks.
