Hi Jim Could it be (I asked my colleague who guesses) that you have and use an Administrator account in AD, while no Administrator account exists in MS Server 2008 (which it by default does not)? /gustav >>> accessd at shaw.ca 04-12-2008 19:32 >>> Hi all: I am having difficulties setting up a new MS Server 2008 so it will accept remote administrator connection. This is the first server that I have experienced this issue with. The other servers, on this site are a mix of various Linux and Microsoft servers (2003). The Active-directory and primary server is one of the MS 2003 servers and the new 2008 server is incorporated into the tree with all the standard set of rights. When attempting to login to the 2008 server, it goes so far as to display the message 'logging in...' and 'loading user profile...' before displaying the message 'The Local Session Manager service failed the login...' Any one have experince with this situation? Jim
