Also great when you buy a new pc that the manufacturer has portioned the hard drive in the bizarre manner that some do. Most large PC makers partition the hard drive with a huge System Restore partition. I recently worked on an IBM ThinkPad with 10 or 20 GB in reserve. The reserve had little on it and the OS's partition was nearly full. I also worked on an Acer which had a 160 GB drive partitioned with 80 GB as a reserve partition. That's absurd! XP can't solve that dilemma on its own. You need a partition manager for fixing that. -----Original Message----- From: dba-tech-bounces at databaseadvisors.com [mailto:dba-tech-bounces at databaseadvisors.com] On Behalf Of Arthur Fuller Partition Magic is IMHO a great product. It's especially useful if you run multiple Operating Systems, but even without that, it's good for partitioning and repartitioning drives, and also cloning one to another (as when you replace a disk with a bigger one).
