Dan, I bought a backup package (acronis) but it only runs on "workstations". I am trying to do this on my Windows Home Server which is based on Windows 2003. Once you step up to server products it is expected that you have million dollar IT budgets and the utilities can cost 10 times as much. John W. Look through all the tabs/pages/properties of your scheduled task - they are not completely intuitive. The schedule says it should take place but there is only a single file in the backup directory and it is dated the first day that I set these up. I can see a "month" in the backup utility and it shows daily events. Any clue why it wouldn't fire? How do I just say "run this event"? I can't seem to just say "do this backup job". Why are Microsoft's utilities so sucky? 8-) John W.
