Euh, there where no updates from MS..., tomorrow is patch Tuesday.

I always auto update workstations and since a year or so, also
servers...
I don't have the time anymore to do this al manually, and it's more
secure, viruses and Trojans are very nasty these days...

This morning all the computers and router was off-line. I initially
assumed
there had been a power outage but then became aware that none of the
clocks
had suffered the same fate.

It took a while to figure out what had happen but after checking the
event
log it was noted that a MS auto update had gone through on the
server....
Yes, I know what you are going to say; "Never auto update on; and
especially
not server."

There had been an auto update and the update affected the active
directory
and these effects rippled through to each station and each station was
auto-rebooted.

So never have MS auto-update on...
