I just bumped my main box a 3+GHz P4 running WXP from 1GB to 2GB. Didn't seem to make much difference in response time. Popular wisdom is that 1/2 gig is too little for XP or Vista. Adding memory was a piece of cake on this Dell box. Pull the cover take out the 1/2 gig modules. Put in the 2 1 gig modules. Done. These modern times - no jumpers, no bios mods. Plug. And play. I never messed with the swap file. Don't know where it is. Where do you set the size?
