It is no effort to send spam. Recently a friend had his mail server hacked and a very sophisticated 'zombie' was inserted that allowed mail from some other unknown location to be forwarded, using a sequential numbering system to everyone. There were no logs kept or anything that would get back to the hacker... This was not a little hacker job but a highly complex piece of code probably written by company that specializes in spam. The only reason he found out was that his own mail was being blocked by his ISP. For the last couple of weeks he has been trying to get his site off all the black-lists. To make a short story long, the email spam you received is probably being sent from some unaware server, feed from some remote site in China and it just happened to increment to your mail address... random stuff. I mean, I can't read Chinese, don't visit sites that are in Chinese, and just have no clue who or why anyone would waste efforts by sending spam in Chinese.
