Wonder why it's so much more expensive?  Volume distribution here?
Competition? Can't be the shipping costs - you're closer.

It will cost about  $2500 :-(

For  $1000,  I can get something with 1GB RAM, 80GB Drive and Celeron M
2.0GHz processor and XP Home Basic.

I can't buy any laptop for $700.
