Phil: I added NWLink NetBios to the Local Area Connection Properties on HAL9005 (my main box). Mirabile dictu! She's working now! So that makes HAP9005 the mayor of the network? Thank you. Normally when the network browser fails (leaves the network) another computer is promoted in (automatically). From what I've read, this can happen faster if you have NetBIOS (for TCPIP) installed as one of your network protocols. Just ran the wiz on all the computers. They're all WXP, workgroup name is WORKGROUP. I tried re-running the wiz - no cigar. You know, the one you had to take to each computer to copy the network settings? If you still have that, have you tried it? Failing that, what happens if you build a new network? My network experience is quite limited (just my own little office network), and this is just about all I know on the subject. I'll be very interested in learning how it works out for you.
