[dba-Tech] Notwork Again

OK, I've identified one problem - Sygate Personal firewall is blocking
ntoskrnl.exe which was trying to connect 192.168.1.2 (HAL9005) to
192.168.1.4 (HAL9004) in response to my trying to browse 9004 from 9005.
When I set the security setting in Sygate to allow all - no problems.

There are two entries of NT Kernel & System in the Sygate Application list -
both the same. One is set to Ask, the other Allow. If I set the Ask one to
Allow it sets itself back to Ask. So I removed it. Now the remaining one
which was set to Allow is now set to Ask.

I used the Advanced tab for NT Kernel to set a range of trusted Ips but that
didn't seem to help.

So I turned off Sygate and the two computers can talk to each other just
fine.

Does anyone know Sygate and know what might be going on here?

Uh-oh. Could be a simple fix. On the sharing tab I forgot to check the box
that says "Allow network users to change my files."

I'll have to do some more testing tomorrow. Brain is
dying...must...sleep...thanks for your help.

It certainly looks like a "permissions" problem.

You may need to set NTFS permissions on the respective folders to get Level
5 sharing.

Take a look at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304040
